Portia Pearl Siyanda Sifolo
Apart from being an altruistic patriot; she is passionate about the tourism industry. Portia is a Lecturer in the Tourism Management Department at Tshwane University of Technology, where she lectures, Entrepreneurship, Eco-Tourism, Adventure, Travel and Tourism Management subjects. She is a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) candidate at the Graduate School of Business and Leadership at the University of KwaZulu Natal. She possesses a Master of Business and Leadership from SBL, UNISA which is an instrument that improves her leadership skills and strategic decision making. She has a Bachelor degree in Tourism Management. Her vast working experience includes destination marketing to tourism research. She started at the humble beginnings at the then “Zulu Kingdom” known as Tourism KwaZulu Natal as an intern to being a tourism ambassador. She worked as the Tourism Information Officer at Newcastle local Municipality; a lecturer at Jeppe College; and further went to Ethiopia, Addis Ababa in 2006-2010, at the South African Embassy. She has passion for entrepreneurship as an economic development initiative. Her research interests include tourism supply chain management, collaboration and strategic management, leadership, tourism integration and migration in Africa.
